Have A Budding Thespian In Your Family?
The Lost Colony is excited to educate and support our next generation of excellence in theater by offering our children’s summer camps, the Theatre Arts Camp for ages 6-12 and the Theatre Arts Academy for ages 13-17.
The Theatre Arts Camp for children 6-12 is a five-day camp that provides children the opportunity to work with members of The Lost Colony cast and crew to explore their imagination, learn team work, and create a performance for family and friends at the end of the week.
A 2-week intensive theater arts program for students 13 to 17 years of age, The Lost Colony Theatre Arts Academy offers teenagers a more complete theater arts experience than our 5-day camps. This new experience is designed to give teenagers a more complete experience than our 5 day camps can offer. The program will cover performance, stagecraft, and auditioning, as well as opportunities in stage managing, props, scenery, and costumes. At the end of the second week, our Academy students will join the Session III Campers to present a performance for friends and family.
The Lost Colony was awarded a Staffing Development Matching Grant from the Southeastern Theatre Conference. The grant helps fund a Theatre Arts Camp/Education Outreach Program Coordinator, a new staffing position for The Lost Colony production. This position will work with Lance Culpepper, Associate Producer, to enhance our summer Theatre Arts Camps for Youth and to launch a new fall outreach program, Mystery of the Lost Colony.
