Backstage Tours give an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at how we make history.
Want to learn more about how a production like The Lost Colony happens every night? Take a Backstage Tour to find out! Starting at the entrance to the Waterside Theatre, our tour guides will regale you with 86 years of history. You’ll learn about the theatre’s origins during the Great Depression, see where a President came to view the show, and hear stories about how the production has survived through hurricanes, fires, and World War II.
Once backstage, see how our actors and technicians prepare to put on The Lost Colony over 70 times each summer. You’ll witness award-winning costumes up close, swords and armor being polished, a “boat” pulling into harbor, and so much more!
Backstage Tours depart nightly at 7:30pm from June 3rd-August 24th. Tours cost $15 per person.

- Tour lasts approximately 40 minutes
- Tours depart from the House Right Breezeway area at 7:30 PM
- This is a walking tour that may be difficult for those with disabilities
