Get ready to enjoy an afternoon among the boats in Wanchese at this new event, brought to you by the team that has hosted The Lost Colony Wine & Culinary Festival for eight years!
The 2nd Annual Roanoke Island Oyster Shellabration & BBQ will take place on November 1st, 2026 from 1-4pm at the Safe Harbor Marina & Tiki Hut in Wanchese, NC.
You’ll have the opportunity to sample oysters from NC Growers, BBQ from Pigman’s, and other regional food specialties. Shucked, roasted, and fried oysters, plus local shrimp, chowders, biscuits, and desserts will be served.
Entertainment will include live music by Partly Crowdy and a special Pow Wow presentation performed by Indigenous cast members of The Lost Colony.
The ticket price is $95, includes all food and two drink tickets. There is plenty of parking available, and please note that all guests must be at least 21 years old.

Oysters
We’ll be serving oysters from across the North Carolina coast. Get ready to experience your oysters fried, raw, steamed, baked, and more. We’ll be featuring 4 different oyster stations representing different North Carolina oyster farms. Cousins’ Oysters will be on site serving fresh oysters all day long.
Shrimp
North Carolina is famous for it’s shrimp, so get ready to taste some of freshest shrimp on the East Coast. We’re proud to be working with local shrimpers to provide the best shrimp around, served fresh by Sea Chef Catering.
BBQ
Get ready to sample Eastern Carolina BBQ at it’s finest! We’ll have lots of different varieties of bbq to choose from at the event.
Chowder
If it’s cool day in November, you can always count on Johanna’s to warm you up. She’ll be serving a variety of chowders to savor throughout the day.
Baked Goods
We’re proud to be partnering with local churches who will provide cakes, brownies, and bars that will be available for purchase.
Partly Crowdy will be on site all day providing great rock and party music for the event!
In the middle of the day, we’ll be hosting a Powwow performed by members of the cast of The Lost Colony. The powwow will showcase different styles of Native Dancing from all across Indian country, including Eastern Woodland, Smoke, Warrior, and more.
