“Speak it out, Simon! We’re Listening to Ye!”
Outdoor Drama Unveils Compelling
Story of America’s Beginnings

(Manteo, NC - June 30,
2008) In Paul Green’s The Lost Colony, the Portuguese
navigator Simon Fernando informs the colonists of the
dangerous and strange new world. Audiences attending the
drama have been captivated by director Robert Richmond’s
re-telling of Paul Green’s symphonic drama, describing
the acting and stage direction as a cinematic spectacle.
Micah Lyons of San Marcos Texas portrays the nay-saying
pilot. The Lost Colony’s recovery from a September fire
that destroyed costumes, sets, props and other treasured
items is evident in every stitch, brush stroke, and nail
of this production. If you have not seen The Lost Colony
recently, the new designs and stage direction of this
year’s production make it a production worth revisiting.
Children accompanied by a paying adult are admitted free
on Mondays and half-priced on Fridays and Sundays.
