The Lost Colony’s
2008 Production is a Riveting Spectacle!
(Manteo, NC -
July 16, 2008) “Epic.” “The best I’ve seen.” “It’s an
Elizabethan fashion show.” “Lots of talent this year.”
“Wow!”…are some of the phrases heard from Outer Bankers and
tourist who have seen this year’s production of
The Lost Colony.
Die-hard fans too have been captivated by director Robert
Richmond’s re-telling of Paul Green’s symphonic drama. In the
Plymouth scene, the on-stage tension and ensuing fight between
Micah Lyons (L-center),
and Zechariah Pierce (R-center) is one of many on-the-edge of
your seat moments. The Lost
Colony’s miraculous recovery from a September fire
that destroyed costumes,

sets,
props and
other treasured items, is evident in every stitch of this
production. It is easy to see why the drama is included in
Patricia Shultz’s best-selling book,
1,000 Places to See Before You
Die. Children accompanied by a paying adult are
admitted free on Mondays and half-priced on Fridays and Sundays.
