Banks Chamber of Commerce Supports The Lost Colony

(Manteo,
N.C., February 28, 2008) – The Outer Banks Chamber of
Commerce members recently donated $27,505 to The Lost
Colony. The funds will assist the drama’s rebuilding
efforts following the devastating September fire.
Margaret Wells, Co-Chair of the Chamber’s Costume Fund
Drive presented the check to Chris Seawell, Board
Chairman of the Roanoke Island Historical Association (RIHA).
In attendance (from L-R) was Chamber President John
Bone, Carl V. Curnutte Executive Director/ Producer of
The Lost Colony, Chamber Board Chair Jeff Malarney,
Margaret Wells, Chris Seawell, RIHA Board Member Edward
Green, Rich Rollason the Co-Chair of the Chamber’s
Costume Fund Drive and Ken Keating, The Lost Colony’s
Development Director.
Funds from the award will be used to assist The Lost
Colony’s costuming costs as items must be rebuilt and
replaced following the September fire that destroyed
three buildings and their contents.
The Chamber and their members are now a part of The Lost
Colony’s Shining Stars— businesses, organizations and
individuals who have provided extraordinary support to
assist the outdoor drama since the tragedy.
Individuals and businesses can send donations through
several ways: online at www.thelostcolony.org, through
donation boxes at local businesses, and fund raising
accounts at the local bank branches of BB&T, ECB, RBC
Centura, and Southern Banks. The Lost Colony is the
longest-running symphonic drama in America and opens its
