71st Anniversary Season of The Lost Colony—See an American original drama found only on Roanoke Island in North Carolina’s Outer Banks.  Experience a 400 year-old mystery performed under a canopy of stars at Waterside Theatre.   Performances are nightly at 8:30 p.m., Sundays through Fridays (no performance on July 4th). Backstage Tours—The ultimate insider treat! Perfect for groups or individuals. The 45-minute walking tour includes exclusive views of the theatre, costume shop, and props.  Tours are nightly at 6:30 p.m. and limited to the first 50 guests. Reservations required. Tickets are $5.00 per person.

Dare Nights—For four nights, Dare County residents get free admission to attend The Lost Colony.  Residents are asked to bring canned food items for a donation to the local food pantries.  Pre-performance donation collection begins at 6:30 pm.  For ticket information, call (252) 473-3414 or visit

June 10- August 12

Waterside Art Tuesday—For the budding young artist! Create your own watercolor drawings like John White made of Roanoke Island in 1585. Activities include a brief video presentation, instruction, and time to paint.  Supplies and snack included.  Tuesdays, June 10-Aug 12 from 1-2:30 pm backstage at Waterside Theatre.  Recommended for ages 7-12.  Tickets are $10 per person.

Waterside Craft Wednesday—Get crafty and create Native American bead work guided by The Lost Colony’s costumed characters.  Activities include a brief video presentation, instruction, and craft.  Supplies and snack included.  Wednesdays, June 11-Aug 13 from 1-2:30 pm backstage at Waterside Theatre inside the air-conditioned costume shop.  Recommended for ages 7-12.  Tickets are $10 per person.

The Lost Colony Children’s Theatre presents Sleeping BeautyA must-see for children!  The whole family will enjoy a classic children’s story brought to life with music and dance. Face-painting and balloon-sculpting will also entertain the children.  Performances are Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:30 AM, June 19 to August 14 inside Fort Raleigh Historic Site (June 19,24,26; July 1,3,8,10,15,17,22,24,29, 31; August 5,7,12,14) Consider a family visit to The Elizabethan Gardens after the show.

Christmas in the Park: A Holiday Open House—Enjoy this seasonal celebration with The Lost Colony.
