2010 Land
of Beginnings Festival Dates Set
Event Planning Underway
(Manteo, N.C., November 5, 2009) – The dates
for the 2010 Land of Beginnings Festival are
set for April 9-17. The 2010 Festival
Planning Committee is busy working and
organizing this year's Festival with
intention to bring residents and guests
together once again to celebrate the Outer
Banks--land of beginnings. Festival events
are geared toward diverse interests and ages
and will be located throughout the Outer
Banks from Kitty Hawk to Hatteras.
In addition to the annual festival events, the committee
is looking for organizations to become a part of the
festival by planning and running an event within the
Festival dates.
Since several Festival events are already planned, the
committee welcomes additional events that coordinate
within the schedule. Events already planned by the
Festival Committee include some of the following: a
Children's Faire (April 9, daytime), Hatteras
Storytelling (April 10, evening), Living Legend
Community Luncheon (April 12, daytime), Storytelling
(Roanoke Island Festival Park, April 13, evening),
Storytelling (Black Pelican Restaurant, April 15,
evening), and a Black-Tie Gala (April 17, evening).

Photo cutline: One of the Land of Beginnings most
popular and signature events is the Children's Faire
which fills the Wright Brothers Pavilion with the sights
and sounds of interactive fun. 2010's Children's Faire
starts the annual celebration of the Outer Banks that is
scheduled from April 9-17. As event planning is
underway, Festival organizers welcome additional groups
and individuals that have a desire to organize an event
for the festival. For information on how you can program
a Festival event, contact The Lost Colony office at
